Meeting Minutes
January 8, 2008
Owen Wallace brought the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m., by welcoming all the attendees back and giving a recap of the first year’s accomplishments of the BHNA.
First on the agenda -- Guest speaker, Mary Beth Kass, from Conversations for Action, a grassroots organization committed to helping the Bedford Community decrease CO2 emissions by the year 2020 (Bedford 20X20). Mary Beth gave a presentation explaining how energy audits are done (e.g. how much CO2 our community is emitting at the present time) so we can see our progress in future years.
Mary Beth announced the next Town of Bedford Energy Town Meeting is scheduled for January 29th, at 7:30. Please call the town to reserve a seat. She left us with a sample pledge to be posted on the Town of Bedford Website for all residents to take.
Old Business -- Owen Wallace led the BHNA with the following housekeeping items:

The BHNA Constitution was discussed, there was a call for a vote, the call was seconded, and the Constitution was passed by a majority vote.

Next item of business was to vote on the Executive Positions:
- Owen Wallace was voted in as the BHNA President.
- Wendy Crowell was voted in as BHNA Vice President.
- Lee Weiss, was voted in as BHNA Treasurer.
- Dianna (Didi) Raxworthy was voted in as BHNA Secretary.

Janet Jacobsen will lead the Community Projects Committee.

We will separate-out fundraising until further discussion.

Lee Weiss will lead the Communications Committee focusing initial efforts on the BHNA website. This website/bulletin board will be attached to the Town of Bedford’s Website.

We are looking for volunteers to lead the Outreach and Neighborhood/Community Watch Committees.
New Business
- Do we still have a PO Box? No we do not.
- A discussion was held and an agreement made that the BHNA Annual Dues will stay at $5.00 per person.
- Owen Wallace will be the BHNA liaison with the Bedford Hills Chamber of Commerce.
- Owen Wallace is working on the Not-for-Profit Status, for the BHNA. Until we are granted this status dues must be collected in cash-only.
Announcements – Elin Sullivan, announcing the Bedford Hills History Museum’s Photography Contest.
